Cities are at the forefront of sustainable development, both in terms of their exposure to pressures, but also as an enabler for solutions.
Leveraging the power of cities to lead on Sustainable Development Goals (Leveraging SDGs) accelerates the implementation of select Sustainable Development Goals via two conferences in two cities.
The conference is a joint event of the Kinder Institute for Urban Research and the Center for Energy and Environmental Research in the Human Sciences (CENHS) at Rice University, the Houston Advanced Research Center (HARC) and the Ecologic Institute, sponsored by the German Foreign Office through German Consulate General in Houston.
Leveraging SDGs focuses on three Sustainable Development Goals:
- 11 Sustainable Cities and Communities
- 12 Responsible Consumption and Production
- 13 Climate Action
